Pinda Sweda is an Ayurvedic massage with warm herbs and rice in bags – the Indian word is bolus. These are small bags made of linen. The herbs are selected in different combinations depending on the client\’s body type and condition to be treatede.  The herbs are prepared with rice and milk and placed inside the bolus.

The bolus are maintained in warm milk and when warm enough, they are used to massage the body.

The bolus must be quickly replaced with another after it has cooled to maintain a moderately high temperature at the treated site. After the treatment is over, the treated parts are wiped with warm, damp towels.
